Plaudits and Letters

Congratulations on the schools events at the London Chess Classic - as good as ever, well even better than before really! I write this about our visit from Oxford Spires Academy. The school will put in their newsletter - but thought I'd send it anyway.

Also, a great comment from a parent: 'My daughter had a brilliant time and talked non-stop about it on Friday until she fell asleep, then woke up on Saturday and carried on talking non-stop about the LCC all day. She hasn't enjoyed anything quite so much for ages.'

Happy Xmas!

Malcolm and Dan,

Just to let you know we had a fantastic time in London on Thursday and Friday The children loved the Chess Classic. For one our boys to have his game played on the stage, with the board on the big screen and the commentated on was incredible - life long memories are made of these moments Also another girl getting a bronze medal, our first ever at the event!

We were planning next years trip on our return journey. Do you have the dates yet? How keen are we? Many thanks.

Charles (Headteacher, Sacred Heart Junior School, Liverpool)

Dear Tao,

Thanks for taking time during what must be a very busy time to reply to my email. I have been able to watch some of the first two rounds, and the coverage is again great. Having the combined wit and wisdom of Nigel Short and Lawrence Trent along with Malcolm Pein (no shortage of wit or wisdom there) adds already to an entertaining event.

Dear Dan,

May I say on behalf of the Pegasus children how very much they enjoyed the Classic event, which was a great success, due in no small measure to the superb organisation. The session with the two GMs also went down very well. And I was pleased that our little group was able to secure a few awards, which is great for their confidence.

So many thanks again to you, Matt, and all others involved in the Classic event, as well as for the support given to Pegasus by Chess in Schools.

With very best wishes,
